Sea Salt Water Flush

The sea salt water flush is a detoxifying method that, unlike enemas and colonics which target only certain parts of your intestines, cleans your entire digestive tract. This method of flushing out toxins in the body in fact has been around for many years, and is often used to help in treating fever, colds, high blood pressure, flatulence, constipation, bloating, and skin problems the natural way. Performing the sea salt water flush is very easy, as you will need no special equipment for it, and the main ingredient is cheap and readily available at grocery stores.

Benefits of the Flush

Unlike most other cleansing methods out there, the sea salt water flush is not an invasive procedure and you may do it on your own at home. In addition, it does not involve the use of some chemicals as all you need is natural sea salt – pure, unrefined and will not introduce toxins into your body.

The sea salt water flush has a two-point attack. One, it mobilizes the accumulated toxins and other waste materials in the entire digestive tract. Two, it effectively eliminates them through the anus. Just how fast is the entire process from start to finish? Usually, the moment you have consumed your sea salt water, you can expect bowel movement within 30-60 minutes. Yes, that’s how fast it works, so make sure you are home each time you do it, and near a toilet.

You can perform the sea salt water flush prior to undergoing a weight loss diet or medication course to start it with a clean slate. With your entire digestive tract clear of any toxins and waste materials, your body’s response to your diet or medications are improved. This flush is relatively easy to perform and is not habit forming like laxatives or suppositories.

How it’s Prepared and Done

To make the sea salt water flush, all you need is natural sea salt and water. First, you need to heat 1 liter of filtered water in a pan. Do not let the water come to a boil; having it warm is just about enough. Remove from heat then add 2 tablespoons of sea salt. Stir it very well and have a taste of the water to ensure it’s very salty. You can now transfer the mixture into a pitcher.

It is recommended to do this every morning, right after you wake up. This is to ensure that no food is in your stomach that could render the sea salt water flush less effective. Or if you need to do it later on during the day, wait for at least 8 hours after your last meal. You need to consume the entire liter of the sea salt water, although when you feel that you are already full you may do a little walking, then drink the remaining portion. Some people might have trouble with the taste of the very salty mixture. For this, you may use a straw, or just pinch your nose each time you take a gulp or sip, to dampen down the salty taste. Or you may also add in a little lemon or lime juice.

Now, after you have consumed the sea salt water, you need to perform a bit of an exercise. You can choose from any of the 3, just to help the sea salt water flush do its job, and to hasten the entire process:

* Squat with your back against a flat wall
* Rub your tummy clockwise, counter-clockwise and downward
* Stand with your feet apart and twist your upper body left to right

Do any of the exercises above for a time, until you feel the salt water had gone further down. Again, within 30-60 minutes, you will have a bowel movement. But if you don’t, simply drink plenty of water, do more of the recommended exercises, or add more sea salt next time you do the flushing.

Things to Note

You may do the sea salt water flush for 3-7 days, depending on your preferred detoxification effect. After doing it for a few consecutive days, you may take a break and do the flush once a week only. No alcohol or spicy food is allowed while you’re on the sea salt water flush, though you may slowly re-introduce spicy food into you diet after you’re through with the detox. You might experience some headaches, but this is normal and will dissipate within 2-4 days. It is best to consult your doctor first is you are planning on doing the sea salt water flush, especially if you have ulcers, tuberculosis, cancer or any other sever digestive tract illness.
